Sara Gael, MA, LPC, is a psychedelic therapist, researcher, educator, and organizational leader with over 15 years of experience in psychedelic-assisted care. She was the founding Board Co-Chair of the Psychedelic Therapy Alliance and currently serves as its Interim Executive Director. She is the founde of Psychedelic Stewardship, an education platform supporting responsible engagement with psychedelics and lasting transformation.

Sara is a Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator in Colorado, with clinical experience in MDMA-assisted therapy, ketamine-assisted therapy, psilocybin facilitation, and psychedelic integration. She served as a therapist/ investigator on Phase 2 and Phase 3 FDA clinical trials of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD and has trained thousands of clinicians working with psychedelic-assisted therapies. She served as co-founder for Memoru Center for Visionary Healing Arts and currently offers psilocybin facilitation through Terragrada LLC. Sara spent a decade with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) 501(c)(3), where she served as Director of Harm Reduction and led the Zendo Project, scaling psychedelic peer-support services across four continents and supporting more than 6,000 individuals. She initiated the Denver First Responder Psychedelic Crisis Assessment and Intervention Training, and currently serves as Program Lead for the Psychedelic Emergency, Acute, and Continuing Care (P.E.A.C.E.) program at The Ohio State University’s Center for Psychedelic Drug Research and Education.

As Founding Course Director and Lead Facilitator for Integrative Psychiatry Institute’s Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Training, Sara oversaw more than 30 faculty, developed more than 300 hours of curriculum, and helped deliver professional education to more than 2,000 learners. Sara advises organizations developing psychedelic and behavioral health programs, bringing practitioner experience to program strategy, curriculum development, clinical education, and organizational design.

Sara comes from mixed white, Hispano, and Genízaro ancestry and has spent more than 25 years in relationship with psychedelic medicines through community, ceremonial, therapeutic, and healing contexts.
